Marketing people love coupons. They serve as advertising, often appearing in newspapers or home delivered coupon circulars. The discount encourages people to purchase a brand they wouldn’t otherwise try. It’s common knowledge that a big part of the battle is getting people to try something. They’ll keep buying good products. New customers are gained and existing ones keep loyal through coupons. That’s important in the rental car industry where the companies look so similar.

Coupons offer the good price while non-coupon shoppers pay a penalty. Wise shoppers look at coupons like that. Because so many people have the coupon, it can be considered to deliver the actual price. When products have coupon available, only a dummy would pay the full price.

Coupons aren’t the only discounts in the auto rent industry. Some companies offer deals to veterans, and even $1 per day rentals during certain seasons. At times, and in certain circumstances, some companies even offer free rentals.

Don’t ignore coupons for car rentals when renting an auto. Use the coupon, the specials, the codes, every tool available to cut down the cost.
